Frequently Asked Questions

Disclaimer

Veneer wood is a natural product and will always exhibit individual features and character marks. Variation in color, figure and other natural characteristics including but not limited to thickness, translucency, texture, grain pattern, wood knots, amount of grain and color, including within the same specie, can occur. Photos shown online, in brochures, and physical samples that you receive are a representative of the species.

Will veneer wood warp or curl?

It is possible. Keep in mind that our products are 100% real wood and will be affected by temperature and humidity.

Is veneer wood biodegradable?

Yes, since the wood is 100% natural it is biodegradable. No type of chemicals are used in the process of production and will not harm the environment during the decomposition process.

Can you write on veneer wood?

Yes, but we suggest a ball point pen. Some pens and markers with a wet ink tend to bleed in the grain of the wood.

How do I send my design/artwork?

You can transmit artwork to us in a number of ways:
• Email files to info@laserwoodpecker.com
• Use a file transfer service like yousendit.com or wetransfer.com
• Send it using a DropBox or Google Drive shared folder

We prefer to receive artwork as an EPS, JPG, AI, PSD or PDF file, with minimum 300 dpi and with a description for the set-up.

What is bleed artwork/design and why does it cost more?

Bleed is a term that is used to describe a document which has graphics that touch the edge(s) of the card. The artwork is engraved on a larger sheet and then trimmed down to size. And this is the reason too, that it costs more.
