In this Gallery you can find samples of several kinds of wood business cards.
We use laser engraving on 2-ply veneer wood. This veneer wood business cards are about as thick as good quality paper business cards. They are durable but flexible.
These business cards do not have added color, which some may see as a disadvantage, but we believe it just gives them even more natural characteristics. We use laser engraving to add the design to the cards that gives it a “burnt” look.
Currently we offer 7 wood species for business cards: aspen, maple, cherry, birch, oak, walnut and western cedar.
Some of these wood species has more contrast between the engraved surface and the wood itself, like aspen, cherry or oak, some of them, like birch has less. Some of them has richer wood grain, some has less characteristic grain. Porous woods, such as oak and walnut do not engrave as well due to the open grain on the surface of the wood. Engraving on a dark wood like walnut, may not appear as legible as compared to lighter colored wood species.
It is very interesting and important to know that variation in color, figure and other natural characteristics including thickness, translucency, texture, grain pattern, wood knots, amount of grain and color, including within the same wood specie, can occur.
Besides engraving wood, we use other techniques to add a little extra to the cards and so provide you with an even unique business card. These include bleed engraving, or cutout designs.
As you can see above, we have a wide variety of fields where our customers are coming from to get their engraved wood business cards. Architects, interior designers, photographers, carpenters, floor installation, contractors, body and health coaches, woodworkers, designers, artists, just to mention a few.
Wood business cards are eco-friendly, natural and use way less wood than paper business cards. And last but not least, they smell amazing!
